Is hostessing even a word? I don’t think so. But I love it!
A little over a week ago, I won this DARLING apron off another website – I know, right?! I won! I never win anything!

I love hosting parties. I host an EPIC Tacky Sweater/Cookie Exchange Christmas party every year for my girlfriends, I can host a mean sleepover for married, adult women, & as y’all saw, I can whip together a classy brunch pretty well. Because I LOVE IT. I own three china patterns, just about every serving dish imaginable, & can pour a fantastic martini.
So Scarlet Threads is offering y’all a 10% off discount to their store with the code blairelovesaprons (yes, blair with an “e”).
Before we moved to China, we learned about Fair Trade, a growing global economic movement that uses trading partnerships to alleviate poverty. Quite simply, in traditional trade models, the artisan responsible for crafting the vase on your desk might have worked in a sweat-shop and been paid a few pennies for their work. In Fair Trade, artisans are paid fair wages and provided safe working environments. It’s a revolutionary model that results in transformed communities and lives, and we’ve been looking for ways to launch a small-scale Fair Trade project to benefit our community. In the summer of 2009, we met our first seamstress. After doing a few small projects for us, we grew more and more impressed with her skill and attention to detail. We learned that she wanted to do more work to help support her family, and our idea for Scarlet Threads was born.

You know how sometimes, you have a “blind friend date?” Where you put on your best dress by Shabby Apple & walk nervously up to a local Starbucks, all to meet a GORGEOUS blonde with a personality & zest for life that cannot be matched. & you know you’ve met someone that in former lives, you gathered around the community well with. She’s the kind of girl that you go “DAMN IT, where were you four years ago when I got married?!” because you know she’d be the 7th girl in a green dress, even if that made the sides uneven. You love her THAT much, THAT instantly.
