The house is still.
It’s 9am & blackout curtains in a toddler’s room may be my new favorite thing. The house is clean, but not tidy, & I’m halfway through my first cup of coffee & making decisions about the day. Do I only book a few hours while he watches a movie & naps on this dreary day, or do I enlist the nanny forces & an 8-hour day?
I’m leaning towards a quiet day at home.
They said there might be flurries this morning, despite it being the mildest winter I can remember. Nothing falling from the sky yet & this picture from several weeks ago capture the only snow we’ve seen all season.

Would you believe that in my neck of the Canadian woods we’ve only seen 3 snow falls and they’ve only lasted a day each.
So weird.
I need black out curtains for Chunky’s room The second he sees a smidge of light he’s up for the day. Sigh.
This is the weirdest weather ever! It was 80 here in central Cali yesterday. Last week we had 2 days of cold and rain and 70′s the rest of the week?! Weird!! But I love the hat!! Too cute:)
Time alone in the morning sounds so nice. But I guess I’ll take my early mornings and early bedtimes because I do NOT want to be up past 9 with the kiddo!
I’m doing the playdate/lazy day thing today.
You make me want to invest in black out curtains – - our kiddo HATES naps.
We have room darkening curtains–are they the same thing, or are they nowhere near as awesome as blackout curtains? I’m thrilled that your new curtains are helping Harry sleep better!
And yeah, this mild winter thing is killing me–I mean, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE what it’s doing for my SAD, but I do miss the snow. I’m sure we’ll pay for it next year, though!
I am SO MISSING the snow. We don’t get it often, but come on…just a dusting? We couldn’t even get a few inches?
Amen to the blackout curtains! I need some of those ASAP since my kids is up at 6 am every day now and Im not happy about it!
Black out curtains = yes. Also, he looks like he could conquer the world, sure to have awesome adventures!
I’m selfishly so excited that you’re currently a WAHM, like moi! I’ve been looking for good WAHMommy blogs, but haven’t come up with much. It’s muuuuuuch nicer to just stick with what (who) I know. So, thanks for that.
My wee one didn’t nap today (GAH!) so my work day was cut very, very short which, in turn, means that I’ll be up late working tonight. My friends think my gig is “lush” – they have no idea.
I REALLLLLLLLY need to get me some blackout curtains.
Where did these magic black out curtains come from?? I think I need some.
My kids have blackout curtains. Abbey’s work great. So do Dylan’s, except the child hasn’t lasted in his room past 2 a.m. for about two months now…
