I have razor blades stabbing me in the brain.

I swear, that would feel better than whatever is going on with my head.  On Saturday night, Nate rubbed my forehead & asked me what he could do & I groaned, “Please, just punch me in the eye.”

He didn’t, of course.  That would be bad & he’d be in jail & I’d be at an attorney’s office.

But taking a sledgehammer to my face seems more enjoyable than the chalk 224x300 I have razor blades stabbing me in the brain.headache I’ve been dealing with for over four days.  I don’t know if it’s because of my distorted cornea or if it’s just Satan’s way of laughing at me via migraine, but my existence over the past four days has been lying in bed & taking expired painkillers leftover from my 2007 breast reduction.  I managed to emerge from the haze long enough to draw a chalk school bus in our driveway & drink a Starbucks, but then I got doped up on codeine & painted Harrison’s room.

Again.

Nate says I should get in front of the computer when I’m all “WHEEE!  I CAN’T FEEL MY FACE!” but I keep arguing that it’s just not professional & he’s like, “& talking about your vagina is?”

I hate it when he makes more sense than me.

p.s. this is today’s mcfatty post.  eat good food & don’t do drugs, folks.

Not that this is the topic you are on, but…

I have always thought about having a breast reduction, but thought I should wait till after having kids because of the fluctuation that may cause. If you don’t mind me asking what did you go from/to and do you ever regret it and did you have any problems with it during or after pregnancy? I have considered going from a DD to a B or small C. My friend had one done and she says she regrets because of all the scarring.

I’ve had an icepick headache that lasted for over 48 hours and they are the worst (I went to the ER for it actually because I thought I was going to get a blood clot or something)

    feel better!

  3. Emily says:

I love your husband’s comment. Too funny.
I hope that your headache goes away. They are the worst!!!

  4. Emily says:

Oh, PS – WHERE did you find the rash guard your son is wearing in that photo? My son had the same bathing suit last year (and we plan to reuse it for our littler guy next year) Then this year we found some sandals that matched!!! Ahhh!!

  5. Rachel says:

i hear ya. when i had a sinus infection induced tooth ache earlier this year, i swear i wouldn’t carved my own teeth out of my mouth if i’d had a sharp enough blade. hang in there.

  6. Carol says:

Painting with that eco paint that doesn’t stink, right? Cause I’m thinking that paint fumes and painkillers probably make for a pretty good time :)

I say Less Work, More Vagina Talk. But that’s just my life motto.

  8. Maria S says:

    hugs from sweden

  9. MomEinstein says:

Dude, that sucks about your headache. I hope it goes away soon. I would have totally used it to my advantage to get out of painting, though, so high five to you for doing it anyway.

  10. Steph says:

Aw, kiddo. :( Feel better soon!

  11. bonzer says:

have you seen an actual neurologist? As someone that has suffered from severe migraines since oh… 1995 thanks to a raging case of lyme disease followed up by an annual reinfection plus someone with migraines in general, I found that the best route was via neurologist to get the proper diagnosis/treatment.

Maybe you could enjoy some medical marijuana this evening. :)

  12. Oh girl, I do hope you feel better. Until then, keep cranking out hilarious posts. I adore them.

  13. Brooke says:

I hope you feel better soon!
Also, not to totally freak you out, but please double check the meds… my mom just did took old pain meds and got sick from them. Turns out she was taking meds that were effing banned from the market!!
But seriously -feel better soon! :)

  14. Steffy says:

I hope you feel better soon. I just wanted to tell you that your p.s. Made me laugh so hard! Way to have a sense of humor even in a ton of pain.

  15. Maybe the paint toxins are getting to your head.

  16. oh BA, i love you. hang in there. hope it gets better.

  17. Susan says:

My eyes hurt and give me migraines anytime I switch between glasses and contacts. I used to wear contacts all the time and I had a headache for 2 weeks when I switched to glasses when I was pregnant. I got contacts again and now get a headache if I wear them more than 2 days in a row. Don’t discount it being your eyes. Technically the Rx on my glasses and contacts are still the same.

  18. Melissa D says:

Colleen, I had BR surgery 12 years ago and I have never once regretted it!

  19. mommabrown says:

Colleen, I had a BR in 2001 – i would recommend it to anyone. However, if you think you want to breast feed one day, you may want to hold off. Getting a BR could lessen your ability to BF. I barely produced because of my BR but some women get lucky. :)

  20. mommabrown says:

oh and blair, hope you feel better soon!

  21. Brook says:

    Cluster headaches = not fun
Just go to the er or a medi-help and get something for that shit.

  22. molly says:

Awwww, migraines are the worst. I really hope you feel better soon!

  23. dawnannmacg says:

I get daily migraines, they suck the big one. I have meds for them, but besides drugs, peppermint tea and a frozen rice/corn bag help..

    hope it goes away soon..

  24. kim says:

    fuck deadlines. more vaginas always.

  25. Gail says:

You mentioned the other day going cold turkey off your antidepressants. Did you go back on? Because if you stayed off, that might be causing your migraine. Usually they recommend a very slow taper because of the side effects.

  26. Rebecca says:

When I’m in pain I just lay around and whine. You are totally BA, BA! (hee hee). You frickin painted your boy’s room!!

Seriously, I hope you feel better soon :)

  27. Melanie says:

So sorry you feel like poo. Not to the pusher-lady, but have you tried Maxalt? It’s prescription migraine medicine made by angels. You stick it under your tongue and in 30 minutes you feel human again. And it doesn’t give you that creepy medicine hangover. I know one friend that it doesn’t magically make things better for, but most of us looooove it.

Come on. Everybody’s doing it. Just go to the doctor and see if it’s a fit for you. It’s magical.

Seriously, you shouldn’t feel that crappy for that long.
