Flashback Friday.

Basically, every Friday I am digging back in the recesses of my photo albums & pulling out old snapshots & stories.  Share your stories with me?

coffee Flashback Friday.

July 2008

oh dear me!  I’m in my nightgown on the interwebs!

For our second anniversary, Nate & I headed into the North Carolina mountains & rented a tiny cabin far out from regular civilization. I remember this morning so perfectly well.  Without changing out of pajamas, we sat at the sturdy wooden table together over breakfast, flipping through Real Simple magazine & soaking in the stillness of mountain air.  Nate made biscuits & gravy while I helped scramble the eggs.

I can still remember how that coffee smelled with the sunshine pouring through the glass panes.

I love this! I’ve been wanting to do something similar for months now but none of my old pics are on the computer and I’ve been too lazy to scan anything in. Perhaps you will be my motivator!

Love this idea, you should add a linky so others can do the same and link up!

We’re planning an NC mountain trip in September (with the boy and dog!). Do you have any cabin rental companies or websites you’d recommend?

I love the idea of Flashback Fridays – and we must be thinking along the same lines because my post today is what I was doing a year ago!

On our second wedding anniversary we stayed at home but turned off all phones (as we try to do every year), watched movies, and at wedding cake. We weren’t smart enough to wrap our top tier correctly so a few weeks before our anniversary I contacted the lady who made our wedding cake and asked if she could make us another top tier. She did and it was just as good as it was the night of the wedding!

  10. Becky says:

Oh and P.S. that is a really cute picture of you!

  11. Emily says:

I love this idea. I’m going to play too – because I have the most perfect flashback today. You should definitely make a linky! And a button! :-)

  12. Oh, I love this idea of traveling down memory lane through pictures. Thanks for sharing.

I’m giving away scrapbooking software if you want to pop over and enter!

Sounds divine! The hubs and I will be staying in a little B&B in about 3 weeks to celebrate our 5th anniversary! Can’t wait for the alone time. I hope to stay in jammies the entire weekend!

  15. Rebecca says:

Lovely photo! I think your wispy hair and night gown make this shot so feminine and soft :)

I too take snapshots of moments like what you described in this post. Then I play them back when I’m sitting at my desk wanting to stab someone during the workday. Totally centers me and makes me smile. I think a link up would be great for these!

  16. Sarah says:

So, I was totally inspired by you today and wrote my own “Flashback Friday”. Thanks for keeping being a mama, so real!

  17. Liz says:

This picture is adorable. :) And the hubs and I LOVE biscuits and gravy. It’s one of our special breakfasts – we have it down to an art!

To me, nothing is more relaxing than a lazy weekend breakfast.

And I like the linky idea. I haven’t been blogging long, but I’ve been doing Flashback Fridays to sort of give some history to my new blog.
