Craft time!

I’m a total crafter wanna-be, so when Amy asked if I would be willing to blog about a craft with Harrison, I was simultaneously pumped & intimidated.  Coming up with creative things to do with Harrison has been on my to-do list for awhile now, but it keeps falling to the bottom of the list (sadly).  Plus, I can barely manage to not burn myself with a glue gun at the age of 27, & I’m supposed to supervise a toddler with something creative?  oy.

I flipped through a few ideas & wasn’t totally inspired, until I saw a hand-print sheep for Easter.  It would be PERFECT for us to start our toddler-crafting.  Plus, Harrison could make a ton in quick succession, meaning that I’d have one for my office, Nate’s office, the grandparents, & our refrigerator.

Keep reading & see how it turned out, including the black handprint on my sweater…

since our little man was born we’ve made handmade gifts for holidays. xmas 09 was his hand and footprint with a little note of love. this is such a cute idea, I have to make some for the grandparents and great grandparents.

that turned out realllly cute!! i might have to try that with my boys. don’t know that i could get the 6 month old to cooperate (or the two year old for that matter) but it’d make a cute mama and baby sheep if i could. hmm
ps your new profile picture is super cute

I once hot glued my hand to the phone while making favors for a bridal shower (not my own). I’m not allowed to use one anymore…

So cute & so easy! The craftiest I’ve gotten with Braxtyn is a few crayons and a blank sheet of paper :)

We totally did this – minus the paint. I just traced my wee one’s hand with a black crayon and then colored it in. We applied the cotton balls together and then she colored all over the page. :) Grandma loved it!

We made these today, thanks for the great idea. My 2 year old loved doing the hand prints, and “puttin on the puff” as she said.. by the 8th one she had given up.. she turned me and said “i’m bored”. It was ridiculously funny, I suppose she didn’t realize that when she wanted to keep making hand prints that we would keep making sheep. Can’t wait to send them out!

very cute! But, what do sheep have to do with easter? I mean bunnies + eggs obviously = jesus, but how did sheep get in there?

So cute! This has inspired me not to be so uptight about messes and to try something like this out with my little guy.
