Today, I shall not eat bagels provided for the holiday. I will stay away from the bowl of Hershey’s Kisses in the work room. I will limit myself to one red velvet cuppycake, lovingly made by my husband for dessert. I will not run to Target & stock up on 50% off candy, or validate the need for a bag of fun-sized Snickers because they’re “such a steal.”
Tonight, I will make a homemade meal that is healthy & yummy instead of turning to a frozen Stouffers lasagna & Texas Toast. If the weather stays mild past Harrison’s bedtime, I may lace up my sneakers & pound the pavement for the first time in weeks. Instead of lounging on the couch because it’s a “holiday” with Gossip Girl, I will challenge my husband to a Just Dance 2 duel & burn off my love handles.
Because I have made healthy choices throughout the day & revved up my endorphins, I will not feel ashamed or shy at the end of the day when it’s time to get my lovin’ on. Instead, I will embrace the stretch marks & know that I am making choices to be healthy, fit, & whole. & that makes me sexy & worthy of his attentions.
Today, I will not get wrapped up in celebrating a Hallmark holiday that urges me to love others. Instead, I will make wise choices that will help me love myself all year ’round.
Signed,
Me

Aww. Consider me inspired on this hallowed day of love
I like it!
I love it! I made strawberry cupcakes for the hubbs yesterday, but made him take all but 4 of them to work to share with his coworkers today. I did not want to be tempted!
So inspiring! Thank you!
LOVE!!!!
Happy Valentines day!
I, like you, am making it my solemn vow to walk past the 1/2 price candy bins.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you, BA.
AWESOME! Today I’m joining the gym. Because I do LOVE, and I want all that I love and all that love me to have me around longer.
So to my heart, I give the gift of the gym…
Happy Valentine’s Day!
We did our Valentine’s Dinner last night and I was a bad bad girl..
I love your post about loving yourself today! Soo important!
Way to go! You are one smart cookie.
I did day 1 of the 30 Day Shred yesterday, I could hardly sit down to pee this morning. Success!
Love this post! I am with ya on this, I was “pretty good” over the weekend, so now I need to keep being good to myself and that means stay away from the chocolate!!
I want to *like* this. Where is my button?
This is fabulous. Every single word.
I linked up and think I may have missed the point of the pledge by a mile….nothing about weight loss on my post….sorry!!!
Now I want a red velvet cuppycake
I’ll probably just have a frozen fruit bar for dessert.
Love your last line! And, that’s what it’s all about, sister-friend!
I’m right there with ya ma’am. We’re having a feast at work and there is a TON of “bad” food. I’m being good though and I’m making chili for dinner yum! Have a great Valentines Day!
Chili for dinner sounds AMAZING.
I love this post. It made me hungry. But I love it. Happy Valentines!
You go!!
Although my hubby made a reservation at some swanky Italian restaurant tonight, a girl can dream that there’s something healthy on the menu, right?
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!!
I like it!!! love yourself, and get your booty moving after work! just give yourself 20 minutes and you will feel a million times better!
Proud of you love! I talked about you on my blog today and how you may have had a part in me getting knocked up.
Love this! I skipped work today, so I stayed away from the treats that I know everyone brought and left in the work room. And DH is making dinner tonight. It will be something involving chicken and butternut squash. That’s all I know. Sounds healthly, right?
Love this pledge! Yay for you!
That brutally honest and gorgeous pledge has solidified my non-creepy girl crush on you.
no chocolate here yesterday either! yay!
happy vd to you.
