We came in from visiting Santa & a quick jaunt to Target. Took off mittens, hats, coats & settled in for an afternoon together. It was FREEZING outside, so our idea was to scrap running & the swingset for the day. I began to tackle a little more Christmas decorating (it has been an on-going project now for over a week) & ran out to the front porch to grab the hammer (don’t ask).
& found myself staring into the sky, a million snowflakes falling down to the world.

oh, my stars. How I love snow.
It’s so pretty. & soft. & quiet.
It’s everything I’m not & so I cannot help but stop & stare in awe of it.
Also, we live in North Carolina & seeing snow is ALWAYS a rare treat. In December? It’s unheard of.

Harrison, unfortunately, does not share my adoration of the tiny flakes. His response was pretty on-par with earlier this year. I think he just hates cold weather like his father. & yet I drag him out into every. single. time. something white falls from the sky.

“Okay, parents. Seriously. It’s cold as hell out here & it’s time to go in.”
The snow fell steadily throughout the afternoon, blanketing the ground in white. So tonight, we’re curling up under blankets with warm coffee & Bailey’s. & tomorrow, we’ll take the boy out for a snowman. Even though I’m sure he’ll hate it.
p.s. odd enough, just Thursday night I looked at snowsuits & totally scoffed at them. why in the world would Harry need a snowsuit? go figure.

The look on his face is priceless!
That is a gorgeous picture of you and Harrison. Yay for snow.
You and I both were looking for “snow gear” at the last minute. Problem is that in my neck of the woods (Chicago) we woke up to three inches and got three more today. Good thing I bought the last snow pants and boots in Brady’s size last night. He loved the snow except for when he face planted in the wet stuff.
Oh I love snow! It was flurrying here last night but not cold enough for it to stick.
Hope to see all your Christmas decorations!
We’re right near Charlotte and won’t get any of that stuff- dang it! But BTW, my son is 15 months and yes, we just now got all of our decorations up today too (well, the lights on the house still need to go up!)… and we started the day after Thanksgiving! haha
I’m from western New York, so anytime that we see snow in Raleigh, it’s a treat. And you’re right, snow in December down here is very rare.
I’m in MN. I would totally box you up some and send it your way if it wouldn’t melt. I spent 1 1/2 hours on wed shoveling 7+ inches and I’ll be shoveling again tomorrow. It is a great workout though! So that’s a win!!
Gorgeous pic of you and him together in the snow! What a keepsake of this year’s first snow!
Unfortunately, seeing as how it was nearly 80 here in gorgeous-but-unseasonably-warm Austin, Texas today, A may not see snow until she’s…?
I’m originally from north of Charlotte and my sister called me tonight to tell me its snowing. I am so jealous! I was in Greensboro last February when it snowed and I was the happiest girl alive. Especially since we had just moved back from living in Hawaii. I love snow too!
My husband just came home from work and suggested I go to the grocery store to “stock-up” when it opens (it’s 7am on Sunday right now) since the weather station is projecting 25 inches of snow over the next 48 hours.
AND we live in the southern part of Canada.
I’m with Harry!
ps; we buy the kids snowsuits, boots, hats and mittens in September (by October it’s usually all picked over).
You are pretty and soft like a snowflake my dear…and unique and original…
PS. Keep that white shit where you’re at. We in Canada drown in it.
Snow in NC is like snow is SC, but I really hope we get come again this year, I like you can’t wait to take S out and introduce her to the white stuff….last year did not go so well
Love that picture! You both look so happy!
p.s. are you wearing a turtleneck? i didn’t peg you as a turtleneck wearer…
oh, I am totally a turtleneck girl on the weekends. I know it’s lame, but they are so warm & I never worry about messing them up with housework & baby
Brayden wasn’t a fan of the snow yesterday either! I think the boys will eventually come around.
its cold as balls here in NYC and friday we head to the RDU area, I was hoping it was going to be warmer there!
I am also shocked at how much snow we got. They were only calling for a few flurries. It was way more than a few flurries.
Where did you find Harry’s dog hat? My little boy loves dogs and he would love that hat!
You could bring the turtleneck back in style singlehandedly. I almost want to run out and buy one now.
We’re measuring snow in feet today.
I’m with Harrison…snow and cold is not fun!
I love snow too! I love that picture of you holding Harrison looking up at the snow. You look so happy! Hope he likes the snowman idea!
