Thanksgiving 2010.
We should pretty much just label this photo as “Harrison at 13 Months.” It is IMPOSSIBLE to get that kid to look at the camera. (Especially when there is a massive fire truck tucked into the corner that probably should have been hidden until Christmas morning.)
This picture is the only one we snagged from the entire day – I took my camera in anticipation of capturing the entire day, but I got deliciously wrapped up in pumpkin pie & stuffed mushrooms & completely forgot about the Nikon in my bag.
oops.
Did I mention how delicious the pumpkin pie tasted?

ok, those curls of his are too.damn.cute!! You are planning on saving one or five when you finally have to cut them, right?? That’s a great family photo — we have so many like that. Well, like that and where it’s obvious I’ve just gotten through screaming “look at the camera! smile! be happy!” You guys look great. So glad you had a good day!
I <3 his hair! All of our photos of our 15 month old involve him lunging for the camera b/c he likes to play with it. We can't get a photo of him sitting still. I have tons of photos of his face really close up or his hand b/c he's trying to grab the camera from me.
I feel ya. I took out my camera, but to take pictures for the hubby’s family Christmas card. Didn’t really take any to capture our first Thanksgiving as a family of three. Oh well. My kid won’t hate me for it, right?
If it makes you feel any better, I do not have ONE Picture at all. I even had the perfect cream lace maternity top for dinner but after a drama filled day with an influx of insane In-laws and doing all the cooking by myself with pregnancy induced very painful carpal tunnel, I spent the entire dinner crying in my bedroom while my inlaws had a grand dinner without me at my dining room table.
Your picture is beautiful and a very happy couple that enjoyed an awesome day with delicious pumpkin pie…and THAT is what you will treasure, not a bunch of pictures of the same memory.
shut up, you, with your pumpkin pie. no one made any for our party! wtf?!?!
Oh the curls!
I have been trying to get the perfect family picture since my son was born in July! I suppose, in the end, the imperfect pictures full of life and personality are the best. This is a great picture and happy thanksgiving!
I hate to tell you this but get used to it – my two girls (even the 16m/o) will smile sweetly and pose for the camera but my dear 3y/o son… Let’s just say for the last year at least all I have are fabulous pictures of the back of his head. I use the sports setting on my camera to snap 20 pictures in 30 seconds or whatever it is and just hope at some point he’ll actually look even for a split second at the camera.
I love the pic!!
I totally forgot to take pictures as well. I feel horrible. Didn’t even get a single shot. Oh well
It’s still a very cute picture. Your family is good looking, Blair!
I didn’t get as many pictures as I would have liked either. And at almost 2 1/2 my son refuses to look at the camera too. He says “I not looking”. We did end up getting a family picture, but not before he stripped down to his diaper and refused to get dressed again.
that is adorable! regardless of whether he’s looking or not, we see the curls. and that is all that matters. ::swoon::
Aw, it’s beautiful! You have such a lovely family!
It’s a MUCH better picture than what we got this weekend. I posted some from our family shoot today and it looks like my husband doesn’t know us.
