I know, I’m doing quite a few giveaways right now. & I have even a few more up my sleeve. But I haven’t done them in awhile & I’ve sort of been “building up” some of my favorite stuff now for awhile. Things that I love. Things that I use. Things that I think you will really, really love. & I want y’all to know that everything I’m giving away these days? You’ve probably seen me using it or tweeting about it already.
& it’s kind of like Christmas when I have all these awesome giveaways lined up & I just want to get y’alls presents to you like, YESTERDAY. I’m so impatient.
p.s. did I tell you that Nate sat on my camera the other day? & now it’s not focusing right? yeah, thanks babe. hence the blurry photo.
A few months ago, I purchased a Nikon D40 second-hand from a good friend of mine. (her name is Speed & you’ve seen her amazing work on…well, my header. she took that one)
p.p.s. could you totally tell in the slide show for harry’s birthday when i got my new camera? it’s kinda funny.
I purchased a camera strap cover off Etsy & went the “cheap” route. I say “cheap” because it ended up not being so cheap after I added a lens cap holder. Then I got it in the mail & it was atrociously large for the actual strap, so it slid all over the place. I was highly disappointed. A complete waste of $25.00. (I kind of want to post her shop so that you won’t buy it, but I don’t want to be that blogger that is a raging snatch rocket)
So I entered a Shey B. giveaway on The Design Girl Blog. & holla! I won!! I never win anything, y’all.
I anxiously awaited it’s arrival. With a turnaround time of about a month, it’s a little wearing waiting for the package to arrive, but worth it. My strap? It’s GORGEOUS. I love it. In a way, I want to not love it this much because it feels so indulgent to have a camera strap cover this pretty & soft when I’m just learning the ropes of a DSLR.
But every gal deserves something pretty around her neck. Shey puts padding in it, which means when you’re carting a DSLR around your neck for hours at a time, it doesn’t cut into you. & unlike the unnamed strap cover from Etsy, this one fits really well. I mean, reaaaaaaaaaaaaally well. As in, it took me an hour, a few choice words, & eventually a coat hanger to get it through. But it hasn’t budged since.
My camera? It’s my new prized posession. I think in a fire, it would be a toss-up as to whether I would rescue my camera or my living room drapes. I do love those drapes.
& the part you’ve all been waiting for…
Someone will win a Shey B. camera strap!!
& not just any strap…but the same strap I have! TWINS!
(good Lord, I am a dork)
To enter, tell me what camera you use & what your favorite thing to shoot is.
As I said before, I have a Nikon D40 & I simply adore catching one of Nate’s famous scowls on camera.

hahaha, did you catch the glitch? where it said “mention creative estates?” that’s totally how I write posts. I’ll start writing & a thought will pop in my head, so I just write down a quick sentence at the bottom of the post to remind myself.
anywho, the Creative Estates Handmade Market is in Arizona on April 8, 2011. Registration is open now!

required jazz: I won the camera strap & did not receive it or money in exchange for this review & giveaway. I’m basically free labor for this one.

I just got a Nikon D90 and have no real idea how to use it, but I’m learning. My favorite thing to shoot is my 4 month old son, Jacob, and my dear husband, Jeff. I HOPE I WIN!
I have a Canon EOS rebel, but really want a Canon D someday. I love the strap and I love taking pictures of my 9 month old daughter and Weddings.
I too have the Nikon D40- I love catching pics of my kids, mainly when they are outside playing.
I have a Canon Digital EOS and my favorite thing to shoot is my daughter’s toes!
I have a Canon EOS rebel, I’m still figuring it out but the reason I got it is to snap photos of our little one. It was my push present I guess.
Cannon Rebel xsi- Love shooting pics of my cats and cupcakes!
I have a Nikon D40 and I love to capture my daughter’s amazing blue eyes!!
I have a Cannon Rebel XS that I am in love with. It is my first DSLR and like you I am learning the ropes with it
My favorite things to take pictures of with it is my family. I love bringing my camera to family events and capturing candid photos of my loved ones
YES PLEASE!
I am heavily hinting for a nikon D40 for Christmas. If I have a strap, I truly don’t think Justin will be able to say no. Right? RIGHT?????
I have a Nikon D60 and cannot take enough pics of my kids (ages 33 months and 11 months) playing together!
Oooh, I want! I have a Canon Rebel XSi and love it. I still only have the kit lens, but I’m working on it! Beautiful strap!
I have a basic (read 4 year old) point & shoot digital camera now that I never use because its annoying. But I love taking pictures of family & friends, sporting events & Moekitty. I’m asking for a DSLR for my birthday/Christmas. How cool would it be to win a strap for it?!!
Well I have just a point and shoot Fujifilm camera. But my dad has a Nikon. I steal it all the time. He never uses it and I’m trying to get him to give it to me.
May be if i put this strap on it, he’ll give in!
And I love taking pictures of my baby. Because he’s the cutest thing in the world.
I have a Nikon D3000 and I love taking pictures of my 2 month old every day!
My husband just gave me a new Pentax for my birthday – we finally upgraded from my old SLR that I never used (film? who uses that anymore?). We kept the old lenses and I love love love taking photos of my baby girl in all her moods and all the places we go.
I have an original Canon Digital Rebel, but I haven’t used it ONCE since Murphylove was born! I have a quickpix that I use (and due to forgetfulness and disorganization, I have more pics on my IPhone than anywhere else).
I bought the D40 for when my little boy was born – he’s turning one tomorrow and I’m constantly chasing him.. and trying to learn how to capture that crazy boy!
I have a basic point and shoot, but am hoping to get a new camera soon. I love to take pictures of my daughters and my pets.
i use a Canon XSi and my favorite subject is my son.
I have a Nikon D-5000 and I’m still a newbie learner but I love people pictures. Whether it’s my brand new month-old nephew or my family or friends…I love pictures of them all!
I have a Nikon D40 too and I love photographing nature and other still objects.
i have a nikon d40 also. and LOVE shooting textural things with it. my husband has the step up and a much better lens than mine. but i still love having one to call my own. & this gorgeous strap would only make it that much better!
i have a Sony Alpha DSLR camera… it was a gift from my husband for our wedding.
my favorite thing to shoot – people… but more specifically – i love taking pictures of my kid (typical mom, right?).
i would love a new snazzy strap… oh so much!
I stole my husband’s Canon 20D… he’s the really good photographer, though!
I love capturing macro shots of everyday things, like the other day when I was helping LO put together a Build-a-Bear make at home bunny, I got a gorgeous shot of her “sewing” the bunny together… just her hands and the “needle”. LOVE.
I have a Canon Rebel XSi. I love it! I’d say my favorite pictures to take are of my husband and our daughter playing together. She’s 4 months old, and it’s so fun to watch her react to her daddy.
I also have a D40 and of course my favorite thing to capture is my cute little boy. If I do get my wish for christmas though I will be getting some macro shot stuff so I can take some great up close pictures of flowers and other fun things! I am the picture taker of the family usually and the strap gets really annoying after a while. I hope I win!
My nikon D40 is my constant companion and I love capturing those moments between dad and son. Youknow the glance that makes you stop and think wow they adore each other. My heart melts.
I have a Canon Rebel XS and I love to take pictures of my sweet baby girl, Caroline!
I have a Sony Alpha and love capturing the simple everyday expressions of my sweet girl…whether its her face covered in dinner or her attempting to get our dog’s attention…those moments are things I want to remember forever!
I have a Canon Rebel XSi and I love it! I love capturing pics of my loved ones
I have a Nikon D200 and I love getting both my “sons” (our furry boy and the one I actually birthed!) together on camera. They are the bestest of friends:-)
I have a Canon Rebel XT, it also feels vintage when I look at some of the newer ones, but don’t fix what ain’t broke I say.
I love to photograph my family, its is so fun to look back and see how much everything has changed.
PICK ME! PICK ME!! : )
My husband just bought me the Cannon T2.. I LOVE it, but I’m (slightly) embarrassed to tell you it scares me.. it taunts me… I pull it out and there are so many gadgets that sometimes I can hear it laughing at me.. ‘I am so much smarter than you’.. lol.. I am also so scared that I am going to drop it that I where it around my neck everytime I use it.. TRUE! So I would LOVE to try this strap!
It’s cliche but my favorite thing is to take pictures of the kids… what can I say.. I love them!
I have a Nikon that I am “borrowing” from school, since my bro got me some photography classes for my birthday and hoping to get a Canon Rebel from Santa!
I love to shoot my little guy Brady with his dad and all the of the GORGEOUS fall colors in Chicago right now…
Nikon D90, And I LOVE taking pics of my kids and family. All of them, my husband, my mom, dad, granny, and sister. And lots of all of them together!
I have a Nikon D5000, and I have NO IDEA what I’m doing with it. So, I use my iPhone camera most of the time…sad, I know. My favorite thing to shoot is…mah baybee! I know…how obvious, right? Would love the strap, maybe I would use the Nikon more if it was a joy to have hanging around my neck (-: Oh, and Happy Late Birthday to Harry! P.S. The little girl on the cover of Parents Magazine this month resembles Harry too much. Blonde hair, blue eyes…great smile. I told my husband, and he said “Who the heck is Blair?” Hahah.
I have a Canon Digital Rebel XSi that I received as a graduation gift from my parents. And lets face it, I generally only take pictures of my baby girl. I may be biased, but she is ADORABLE.
)
My husband gave me a Nikon D40 for my birthday last year and I absolutely love taking pictures of my children with it. I take it everywhere we go, I always feel like I can get a great shot no matter what they’re doing!
I just got a Canon Digital Rebel XS and I love it! My favorite thing to take pictures of is, of course, my girls. But occasionally something really funny comes along, like my husband in a devilled egg costume. Had to do it.
I have a Nikon D3000 and I love to shoot my son Jaiden, who is 3 playing with his toys outside.
Good god that is gorgeous! I have a Nikon d40 and love taking pics of my baby girl. Especially those few pics where I can actually get a great in focus one!
I have a Nikon D3000 and i love to take photos of my dog playing.
I have a Canon XSi that I love. I, of course, love taking pics of my son. One of these days I will learn how to do it correctly. And if I don’t get a camera strap cover soon I’m going to freak. I carry mine like a purse because I can’t stand having the strap around my neck. Of course then I bang it into stuff.
I have a Nikon D40 (hell? twins again!) and I love shooting my girls all over the place. Yes, I am that obnoxious mom with the camera everywhere!
oops, I meant hello? not hell….
Nikon D3000 — Snapping memories of my almost 1 year-old.
I have a Canon PowerShot but am deciding between the Canon Rebel and the Nikon D3000. Of course my favorite thing to shoot is my 4 month old daughter, Reagan!
I have a Nikon D90 and I absolutely love capturing those special moments between my daughter and her daddy! Priceless!
I am on pre order for the Nikon D7000 and have no idea how to use this type of camera but can’t wait to learn!
I have a Canon T1i. Canon’s rule and Nikons drool. LOL. I like every type of photography portrait, landscapes, sunrises, sunsets and macros. But my all time favorite is my little guy Nic.
Totally twinsies, cause I shoot with a D40 and I would totally heart that camera strap:)
I have the Nikon D60. I love shooting my lil boy who is almost 1! I am considered the camera lady in my family since I am constantly taking pictures. Half the family doesn’t take pics anymore since they know I will have the part covered.
I would so love this strap! Even if I dont win, I may just hit at the hubby for an xmas gift!
I have a cheap Canon but some day my desire is a nice Nikon. Anyway, my son will be 1 in 10 days and I love taking his picture. At least my cheap Canon would have a pretty strap.
I’m getting a refurbished Canon EOS for Christmas. CAN”T WAIT!!! But for now I love taking pics of my 10 mo son Sam with our Olympus Stylus 800.
ooh! my dad has a nikon d40 and i soooo have my eyes on it! i’m thinking he needs a new camera and NEEDS to pass down his. Dontcha think? winning this giveaway is just the push he needs!
and of course my fave thing to photograph is my gorgeous child!
I have a Cannon Rebel–the film kind–I really want to upgrade to a digital someday. I love capturing my boys.
I have been trying to convince myself that it is worth the $$ to buy one of these. I would also like a pretty, girly camera bag and lens cap cover.
And if I actually knew how to use my Sony a350 DSLR I might actually look good with all of my “stuff”.
Anyways, the obvious favourite subjects are my children, but since they are all at an age where they would prefer I just get out of their way, I love to snap pics of barns, fences…..and my dog Studley.
I have a Canon T1i but I’m pretty partial to Canons.
My favorite thing to shoot are my kids and why I convinced my husband I “needed” this camera! I also have a thing for shooting flowers..they don’t move like my kids.
I would love a Canon D40 but unfortunately I’m broke! But I do have a fuji fine pix which works fine for now!
I have a Canon Rebel. I love to take vacation photos & photos of my niece & nephew.
I have a Sony Cybershot. I love it. I take lots of photos of my new son. and video. And the thing I like least about my camera is that it doesn’t have a strap!
I have a Nikon D90 and I love capturing my little 1 year old crazy baby!
I have a Canon Rebel t1i. Love it! And I love catching my hubby and son smiling at the same time on camera.
I have a Nikon D200 and my favorite thing to shoot is my adorable 8 month old daughter of course!
I have a Canon Digital Rebel and take tons of pics of my pup and baby girl.
On a side note – Blair your pics have gotten so good lately. Any tips on how to take better pics and get such bright colors & clarity? I feel like such an amateur with these things…
I am completely unqualified to have the Nikon D3000, but it’s what I have. Perhaps some day I will take it off the automatic setting. And, of course, my favorite thing to take pictures of is my kid. (when she’s not trying to grab the camera from me, that is.)
I LOVE the D40. My first exposure to it was while working for a newspaper.
Since then, I left the paper and gave them their camera back, and bought myself a Nikon D3000. Not quite as nice, but pretty spectacular none the less.
Favorite thing to shoot? Real life. Not posed pictures (though I like those too), but I love to sit back, let the kiddo play, and just take pictures. Love.
I love to shoot my kiddos with my Nikon D80 w/50 mm lens that hubby got me for Christmas right before peanut was born.
I have a Nikon D-40 too and although most of my pictures are of my daughter, I just love to take pictures. My husband calls me the (potentially offensive comment warning) Asian tourist because I almost ALWAYS have my camera around my neck. A strap cover is exactly what I need!
i have a canon rebel xs and i love taking pictures flowers. they’re one of my favorite things in life, and i just love capturing one just right.
I have a Nikon L110, I would love to get the big lens that attaches to it in the near future. I love taking pics of my 14 month old, I can rarely get a good one of him looking at the camera…I am sure you can imagine. However there is one shot I am hoping to get: Halloween at sunset w/ my toddler (in his dinosaur costume of course) standing under the big tree in our front yard, with fall colored leaves on the ground….a girl can dream right!
I currently have a POS camera. A tiny point/shoot Canon. My DH and I have both been wanting a “real” camera – a Canon Rebel is our current love. So, if I win the camera strap, then we HAVE to buy the camera, right?!?!? I know you like the way I’m thinking. Anywho – I am loving taking photos of my 2 wild ones (obviously)!
I just bought a Canon Rebel xsi and LOVE it! It’s my first DSLR camera so I’m not too good with it, but I love taking pictures on my little girl Ella.
Plus my camera strap sucks so I hope I win.
Thanks
I have a Canon XS Rebel. I love to capture my son, as well as nature!
I have a panasonic lumix right now, but are looking at DSLR’s, I would love this strap!!!
I love to take pictures of my daughter and hubby together!
Sony A400… hubby got it off Craigslist for me right before the little dude was born… love it, but still trying to figure it out!
I lost my Canon Point & Shoot, so I got a Canon EOS Rebel! (My birthday / anniversary / Christmas present to myself!) Took it for a spin around the lake near our house and we got a gorgeous family portrait! I bought it specifically to take pictures of my daughter
We have a Nikon d3000 and just got the 35 mm lens for it. LOVE taking pictures of my kids. They grow so fast and capturing any and all moments are priceless to me.
I have a Nikon D5000, that I still use in automatic mode 75% of the time.
I love it, but don’t understand it yet. My favorite thing to take pictures of: my blonde-haired, blue-eyed beautiful boy!
I use a Canon Rebel and my favorite thing to shoot is naturalistic portraits.
I have the Canon EOS Rebel and love it! My favorite subject is my 16 month old son!
I have a Canon Rebel EOS. Now that my son is here I don’t feel so lame. It’s a lot more acceptable to take 1,000 pictures of your baby than it is to take 1,000 pictures of your pets, which is totally what I used to do before the baby.
I have a Canon 5D Mark ii. I’m having my first baby and my favorite thing to photograph is going to be my growing belly! (although, I’ve loved the silly photo shoots with my nephew in the meantime!)
Hello! I use a Canon Rebel Xsi and I absolutely LOVE it! My favorites shots are children and families. All kids are adorable and I love catching their little personalities with my work
The strap is TOO STYLISH!!
I have a Nikon D3000 that I absolutely ADORE! I love taking photos of everything and I hope to upgrade soon so that I can start making photography my career!!!
I have a KODAK EASYSHARE Z650 Zoom Digital Camera that I’m not too happy with, but it works. It was my mom’s and when she got a new one, I inheirted it. It does well, but I really want a Digi SLR either Nikon or Cannon. I do have a Canon Rebel EOS 35mm Film Camera that takes EXCELLENT photos but unfortunately, it is only film and when they transfer to digital cd, they are washed out. I love taking abstract landscape photos best. I’m trying to learn to take photos of people better, but I think I need a better camera to do that.
We have a Canon Rebel EOS. My husband is actually the photographer, but if I win this he will just have to deal, because it’s totally going on the camera
I have a Canon Rebel T2i and my favourite subject to shoot is my crazy son who is 2. Especially when he asks me to shoot an extreme close up of his face! :p
Love it! I have a Canon 7D and my absolute favorite thing to shoot is when my daughter plays with our dog. She’s still in the “putting everything in the mouth” phase, so usually a dog toy ends up there. And my dog watches, totally not amused. Is it bad that I photograph it quickly, and THEN take the toy away???
I still have a “regular” digital camera – would love to make the jump. But, my sister in law has a DSLR and I would love to win this for her. She takes wonderful shots of my kiddos and hers.
I have a Canon Powershot G10 and LOVE to shoot my 10 month old daughter.
I have a Canon Rebel T1i and my fave thing to shoot are people. Especially kids. Especially my own, but any people will do.
Love your blog! And your letters to Harrison have me in tears every.time
. I have a Nikon D3000 and my 18 month old son Carter is my favorite subject to shoot, of course!
I have a Canon Rebel XSi and love taking pictures of my wild and crazy labs. The pictures don’t always turn out so great because they don’t sit still for long, but its a fun hobby!
Details, Details, Details are my favorite thing to capture… those details of my awesome little boy…!! I bought the Canon XSI in February and I finally feel like I’m starting to figure it out. And I HATE the strap that comes along with it. So uncomfortable! Pick me!!
)
PS- Happy Birthday Harrison!!!!
I have a Canon Rebel xsi. Unfortunately, we are 2 years into the baby making process so no adorable kids of my own to take pictures of. Lucky for me I have a big family so my little cousins are my favorite subjects. They make me smile!
I have the Canon Rebel XTi and right now my fav thing to shoot is my miniature schnauzer, Daisy. She has the most incredible eyelashes; I can’t get enough! We have a baby on the way and I really need to learn more about my camera so I can take our own newborn/monthly photos. LOVE the strap cover!!!
I have a Sony SLR and I want to shoot amazing photos of Lillie running!
I have a Canon 5d mark ii. Love it. I think I might have purchased the same strap as you. It moves all over the place and sucks! I need a good one so I look put together for my clients! My favorite thing to shoot is my son (when he cooperates)!
I have a Nikon D5000 and I love it! (Even though I have no idea how to use it!) And I love, of course, taking pictures of my daughter and nature!
