Early morning walk with pajamas & coffee in hand.

There is nothing better than waking up to cool weather with a hot cup of coffee & sunlight streaming in.  When those mornings happen, I feel so ready to take on the world.  Like I could cook, clean, make treats for the boys, & sit on the porch to read all book.  All by noon.

Sometimes, that means a lazy early morning walk with Harrison.  You know, the kind where you just throw a sweatshirt over jammies & set out with coffee mug & camera in hand.  Not for exercise, but just to breathe in the crisp air, listen to a babbling baby, & appreciate the sound of sneakers against cool pavement.

(I love that sound.)

  1. Love those mornings! And yesterday and this morning were just perfect for a nice stroll.

It makes me sad that we live in a neighborhood that has a main road and no sidewalks. So if we want to go for walks I have to drive to town or a park. Defeats the purpose all together – yet allows for a Dunkin Donuts run… So Win-Lose! haha

I can tell the dog misses my old, super walking friendly neighborhood. He refuses to do his business outside in the yard, and immediately goes in the baby’s room. Perfect spot. Already smells like poo in there, so well planned my friend.

He is so handsome, I could just die. What a heartbreaker! Way to make some seriously good-lookin’ offspring, friend.

Sounds like an absolutely fantastic morning, fun to see serene little moments like this, and see you so content, on your blog. :)
    xoxo,
    Lulu

Soak it in! I love those mornings, and we had one of those as well today. The weather is perfect, the baby is happy and so you are. How often does all that happen? Not often enough in my world, but it makes it that much sweeter.

  8. Molly says:

    What a sweetie!!!!!

  9. bonzer-christina says:

man, that is just the best. I don’t know which I like more, the early morning walk or the “walk them to sleep” walk, where you go right at bedtime and they pass out on you.

  10. Law Momma says:

    *sniff* I miss my neighborhood.

    This is adorable, btw.

  11. Sounds like a great morning. I love doing the same thing. Somtimes though when husband gets home late in the arvo after dinner when the sun is setting we will walk around the neighbourhood and look at other peoples houses to get ideas for renovating our own. Our baby giggles and plays happily and its a great bonding time with hubby I find.

  23. Emalie says:

I can’t tell you how much I love this post! This is a ritual my husband and I spontaneously started once springtime hit our Upstate New York area. And I just love it. I didn’t realize it while I was in it, but I was suffering from some form of depression, and this little weekend routine really helped move me in the right direction. It was baby steps to admitting I wanted to be happier and just love my life.

Sometimes thinking about our weekend PJ/Coffee/Kid in a wagon Morning Walk is what gets me through the week, especially on those not so stellar days.

  24. Gussy says:

I love that sound, too! Getting up early is amazing. I love to sleep, but I also love the feeling of early morning productivity… :]
