I’ve started working on Harrison’s first birthday party.

You know how I like to get obsessive about this kind of thing.

Remember The Momma’s birthday party?

I jotted down “pumpkin pie pops” on my list of tasty treats.

Pie Pops Ive started working on Harrisons first birthday party.

Next to it, I wrote “I AM INSANE.”

in my head = the most awesome 1st b-day party ever.

i fear that my dreams won’t come to light exactely the way i’ve envisioned.

  4. Becky says:

    I want one. OMG.

  5. Kristen says:

I normally would have already started working on my son’s 1st birthday except his big sisters is in 2 weeks. So after that I will have approximately 2 months until the big 1st birthday on November 10th.

But the pumpkin pie pops look delish. Hope they turn out for you!

  6. Elizabeth says:

those look really good but really hard! did you get them from bakerella? that blog has a lot of cute “cake pop” ideas.

I started working on Parker’s party 2 months ago, I tend to get obsessed when it comes to planning also. I like everything to be perfect and I want people to go “wow what a great party, she is so creative!” I hope Parker’s party goes well.

If you need invitations or a banner, I stumbled upon this awesome Etsy shop. This woman is great and I plan to use her for every invitation I need.

  10. D says:

I am mentally starting to plan H’s birthday but I start getting overwhelmed & excited at the same time. It’s not very productive. However, those treats look M-azing!

  11. OMG OMG OMG one year?! ALREADY?! Noooo say it ain’t sooo – but I do love the idea of pumpkin pie pops…

  12. Sarah Jane says:

mmm…that sounds so good tho! Insane is such a relative term ;)

  13. Amanda says:

Hey! Don’t fret! These are super super easy to make, especially if you use store bought pie crust. It’s still really tasty, and it takes about an hour less of your time. I made apple pie ones, and they came out great.
As a tip, use some egg whites to brush the inside of the bottom of the crust, then gently press in your popsicle stick. After you add the filling, add the top of your crust, and the egg whites should help the edges stick together. If you find that they aren’t sticking well, add some more eggwhites between the two pieces of crust, otherwise your filling will seep out while baking.
    Have fun!

  14. I’ve started planning Knox’s, too, but I’m about five months ahead of schedule. Party planning makes me giddy with excitement and depressed that we started the Dave Ramsey plan BEFORE January. Oh well, I have five months to save up.

    Those pops look good. Seriously.

  15. Katie says:

    Oh. My. Yum.

  16. Alena says:

Reason number 2834972347238472 why I will be throwing a fall party.

    For no good reason.

    Nom.

  17. Kimberly says:

Yum!! I tackled a cake for my son’s birthday. I thought that watching the cake boss was enough learning. It turned out pretty swell! You’d be surprised at what you can do!

  18. PartyMom says:

“I am insane” was pretty much my mantra planning T’s first birthday party…my family and friends agreed after the fact. Pumpkin Pie pops sound amazing. I might have to store that idea away for one of my upcoming parties. Can’t wait to see the final results!

  19. Amanda says:

Harrison is just a week or so older than Marley & I have been working on Marley’s party for about 2 months now. I spent a month searching for ideas and now have slowly started buying& making stuff. It’s a little ridiculous.

  20. Jamie says:

Yum! Those look too delicious NOT to make. Recipe please. :)

  21. Jen says:

I started working on B’s party a month ago and now it is a week from today and I feel like I am scrambling to get things done!

  22. Shahny says:

Yum! I’m so excited for Autumn!

  23. Sharone says:

um, those look delicious. And yes, you are a little insane for wanting to make them for a one year old’s birthday party, given that most of the dessert from those types of events tend to end up uneaten, all over the face of the birthday baby. But still, yum, and the baker in me says screw it, make them anyway. :)

  24. How fun! And I am the same way. I will likely be planning our future childs first bday while I’m pregnant… it’s ridiculous.

  25. hhaha i like the i am insane note!

  26. Jenn H says:

I’m planning Ezra’s 1st birthday party as well. I picked the theme out awhile ago (a whimsical frog prince theme, heres the link, it’s incredibly cute, http://thehillmanfam.blogspot.com/2010/08/almost-party-time.html )
It’s been nuts how much I have put into it. Holy cow, it’s kind of kicking my butt. My mind goes crazy with ideas!

  27. Daisy says:

YUM! If i were you i’d make them, then eat them all myself. Then again, thats why I’m still going through weight loss problems.

  28. Erin says:

Wow! Those look SO awesome. I was just thinking the other day about how I need to start practicing my cake decorating so I’m ready for Wesley’s 1st birthday…man, these kids grow up TOO fast!

  29. Tiffany says:

    Um, please & thank you??

  30. dena says:

I can only give you one bit of advice for any of Bakerella’s pops…test runs! Do not go forward without test runs!! I made the wedding cake pops for my SIL’s bridal shower and I was up to my ears in melted chocolate at least 3 times before the big batch!!! I will admit, the pie ones look mildly easier only b/c there is a lack of dipping which was my downfall with the cake pops. They do look damn tasty, though…

  31. claudia235 says:

I have about 2 months to go before Miabella’s 1st bday, and I haven’t even started to plan for it. I know I have time, but I need to get off my butt and start planning this!

those pumpkin pops look AMAZING! ::drool:: ::starts googling for recipe::

  32. Susan says:

Yum! I’m planning too. Fall is so much more fun than the first part of February. I’m jealous of your pumpkin pie pops.

  33. Andrea says:

Hey (not sure you remember me) my son's b-day is Oct. 10th. I also have been working on his party. What are pumpkin pie pops? Look soooo cute! Can you email me the recipe? Twirler55@aol.com

  34. Molly says:

I’m totally with you. I’ve been working on the theme and flushing out all the details of course, and then I realize that it’s 2 months away and I need to get a grip and stop being so CRAZY.
But, I can’t help it, so I just keep on keeping on:).

  35. Lori says:

I would KILL for this recipe! Can you post it????
