How to not skin your knees.

Harrison is a MASTER crawler.  He first crawled in my hospital room after months of just…looking like he would crawl.  Then he took off.  Within three weeks he was pulling up, sitting down on his own, crawling, & as of this past Sunday, STANDING ON HIS OWN.

I know.  & right now, he’s standing over his Leap Frog table holding onto a stuffed whale while he jams out, looking SO GROWN UP that I can barely stand it.

He’s a machine, no?  We had a lot of issues with him crawling at first because he was crawling OUT of his jammies.  He’d get going & the next thing you know, his knees are out of the legs of his jammies & he’s crawling in the bodice.  Hilarious?  Yes.  Functional?  No.

So we took off the jammies.  & his knees rubbed raw. NOT a good look or feel.  So we put on Baby Legs & HALLELUJAH, problem solved!  Nate was so not a fan of BabyLegs before this.  Remember this picture?

(zomg, how little was he?) But he grew into them, even though they were still more for aesthetics.

but then the crawling began.  & BabyLegs became essentials in our house, especially on weekends when we’re just bumming around.  My favorite part?  Diaper changes.  You don’t even have to pull the BabyLegs off, just unsnap the onesie.  Easy as pie (which is why I LOVED them when Harrison was little & going through 10,000 diapers per day)!

Doesn’t he look mature now, almost 8 months later?

B – That video was just too stinkin' cute! Harrison has grown so much!!! What a cutie pie.

  2. LCW says:

It's incredible how fast they grow up. I look at newborn pictures and just die that my baby girl was ever that little. And Harrison is growing like a garden weed…he's crawling and holding onto his toy AND standing AND grabbing another toy. Next thing you know he'll be climbing stairs and bossing you around with his WORDS. Thanks for sharing his milestones, so much fun!

  3. ElleJay says:

Gosh he's so big! I'm so jealous. My little guy is almost 7 months and has zero interest in crawling. But I swear he wants to walk and wouldn't be surprised if he does before he crawls.

And I love babylegs, yup my husband isn't a fan either but I told him when B starts crawling they will come in handy!

  4. nora says:

great video! it's amazing how fast he's growing. good luck catching up to him now :-)

and as a mom of a spitter, i looove the "dinner's on me!" onesie. my babe has the bib – actually he has 3.

  5. Law Momma says:

He's so cute. And I may have to buy Baby Legs… How do I not have any of those?!?!

  6. Gina says:

Isn't it funny when you look at the newborn pictures and you can't remember them being so small – even though it wasn't that long ago!

He looks like such a big boy now!

  7. Molly says:

My 11 month old daughter was seriously crawling over me to get the pictures of Harrison. I think she's a fan!

  8. That video is adorable. He will be walking before his first birthday! I love baby legs and the discount code is an added bonus! I just used the discount code and bought a Cherry Blossom Blanket for a shower gift. Going broke saving money!

  9. christina-bonzer says:

your kid will be walking by 9 months old.

  10. Leslie says:

Charlie did the exact same "crawling out of his jammies" thing. It was the cutest thing ever.

  11. Steph says:

SO. CUTE. I want to squish those cheeks!!

  12. Megan says:

So cute! I'm considering buying some even though I'm not even dating and therefore nowhere close to having a baby any time soon – maybe I'll just buy anyway and my first friend to have a baby gets them!

  13. Sara says:

I hope my husband comes around to the baby legs when my (7 month old) son starts really moving this summer! Skinned knees are no fun for nobody!

    Also: Harrison is dreamy.

  14. Alyssa says:

Omg. Hailey just learned how to roll over at 7 months. She's one day onlder than Harrison. I cannot imagine her crawling like that. Wow.

  15. Shan says:

We love Baby Legs for exactly the same reason!

  16. Fiona says:

omg, harrison looks SO LITTLE in that first picture….I almost cried because DS is a month younger & cannot believe how time has gone by!!!!!

but yes we are obsessed…..obsessed with Babylegs. "Only real boys can wear babylegs" = )

  17. Marianne says:

I may as well not even bother having my own kids because if they aren't as gorgeous/adorable/pinch-tastic as Harrison, I'll forever be comparing and disappointed…

Seriously, the one of him cheesin' it big time and then the last one. How is it possible to be that cute?!?!

I like the argyle baby legs, they make him look so studdly :)

  18. Kelly (egankn) says:

Hi! You probably don't remember me from the bump but wanted to say hi and happy 8 months to Harrison! (my DD was born the same day, can't believe they're getting SO old and big!!!)

And just be grateful you don't have a daughter, it's insanely hard to dress her cute in dresses and stuff while she's crawling! Some days I just want to hold her down, I'm not ready for her to stand and walk and stuff…

Anyway, hi!! Love the baby legs!

  19. Heather says:

    He is too cute!

  20. Oh my goodness he is SO handsome! What a heartbreaker he’ll be! I have been reading & hearing about how great baby legs are once they’re crawling. I will keep that in mind once it’s our turn!

  21. Yes! I totally have those cowprint baby legs! My husband was not on board with Jack wearing legwarmers (he said they made Jack look like an extra in Fame) but now Harrison will be my Exhibit A for the argument that they are functional!

  22. BethT says:

I'm dying for some baby legs. Do they continue to fit a babe newborn through toddlerhood – do you know? Their web site doesn't really say…

  23. Chelsea says:

Gosh He really is just so adorable :)

  24. C says:

He is so handsome. I bet in a month you will have a walker.

  25. metta1313 says:

So freaking cute! And he does look handsome in his baby legs!

  26. michele says:

what a big boy!!! Elliot just went through the same transition last month, but he was 9 months old at the time.

and thanks for the BabyLegs reminder! I have always wanted to try them, but kinda forgot about them (whoops.) And with the same raw knee issue happening, now is the perfect opportunity. woot!

  27. Rachel says:

my little Logan has the same onesie. So adorable. I can't wait for him to get to Harrison"s age

  28. Melanie says:

We love BabyLegs for our son. I will admit I am slightly obsessed lately. I have gotten a couple of comments from people about a boy wearing leg warmers, but we don't care.

They are also great for spring, when it is too warm for pants and not warm enough for shorts. My husband loves them for the quick diaper changes too.

And just because it needs to be said one more time…Harrison is adorable!

  29. Mommy C says:

I think they are super cute, but wasn't sure they were really for boys. Now I know!!

  30. Holly says:

Ok, so these things stay on while crawling. Who knew? I guess I better get some…

  31. Lisa says:

Baby Legs don't fit my almost 1 year old :( They haven't fit since he was around 4 months, even then they were so tight on his little thighs. I don't think he's particularly chubby – I just wish they weren't so tight at the top.

  32. Stefani says:

Just ordered Addison a pair in Jellybean – so cute!!! We haven't emailed in a while… I hope things are going well. I'm done with school for summer which leaves more time to peruse the interwebs :) Thanks for the coupon code! ::hugs::

  33. Carrie says:

I CAN NOT stand how adorable he is! Looking at how he looks at you ALMOST makes me want one. Almost.

  34. Gretchen says:

I think baby legs are so cute! I've been meaning to get me some!

PS. I can't believe how big Harry is getting! He is just too cute!

  35. Cindy S says:

Mature? Holy cow, he's stinkin' adorable!

  36. Rachel says:

He really reminds me of my Ben, but maybe because they are close in age. I think I will take advantage of that code…we have hardwood…ouch on the knees!

  37. Julie S. says:

    Seriously, he is ADORABLE.

  38. ericaelaine2 says:

OMG! These are stinking ADORABLE! I just went over to babylegs and bought 4 pairs of these for my crawling master. His little knees have been all red and he gets up on his feet and sits constantly to rest them. I hope that these help, if not, they are worth it for the cuteness factor ;)

  39. Shahny says:

OMG how adorable he is??? Love this pictures. I'm so tempted to buy some babylegs, I will jus have to wait til we actually have kids lol

  40. Ashley R says:

The argyle babylegs and Harrison's face in the 2nd-to-last photo = me dead of cuteness. Love love love him. My son is about to turn 7 months and I'm so nervous about the crawling/standing/walking to come! Ahhh! Glad you found a solution to the crawling out the jammies issue.

  41. Miranda says:

I have been ridiculed time and time again by insecure men and women who are jealous they didn't exist then their children were babies for putting my child in "tights." But Babylegs are the single most useful, creative, decorative item I own for Joshua. And I love them. LOVE them.

    They are so cute!

And I'm in LOVE with the argyle ones you have on Harrison.

  42. Katie says:

Thank you for giving me a reason to order these! I've been wanting to, but just never quite decided yes. I have one pair and love them…but now that my son is crawling (as of yesterday) we soooooo need more. And you gave a discount code…I'm so game to order!! :)

  43. He is so freakin' cute! I love those baby legs. Wanted to get N a few pairs but never did :( I suck, I know.

  44. val says:

you are such an inspiration…thankyou so much for all your honesty
