Yesterday, we took advantage of the GORGEOUS weather & headed to our alma mater to enjoy the sunshine & revisit the places where our life together began. Beginning with this building, where we first met:

Harrison totally took the picture. You know, from his stroller. Or, at least, the camera sat on the stroller with the timer.

& then we frolicked. (some of us actually frolicked thanks to 10 years of ballet lessons, as pictured above) All around campus. It was fun, & sunny, & glorious. We changed a diaper in the stroller, right outside the place where we scheduled our first date. We walked by our old dorms, strolled through the quad, & saw all the new construction that made the campus look different than it did a mere 5 years ago. & then we stopped for lunch at the campus bar:

oh my God. You have a baby. In a bar.

why yes, yes we do.
& then we snagged some Starbucks because the bookstore was PACKED. & sprawled out on the front lawn in the shade with some toys & a blanket.

Harrison picked out that giraffe at Target last week. I keep telling myself that I’ll do that as long as he doesn’t know what’s happening. Unfortunately, those days are numbered.

His sweet Trumpette socks, a present from his Nana Bunny (the wife of who he’s named for), becoming too small. ::sigh:: My baby is growing up.

Harry & Momma. Enjoying the day.

Aw what an awesome outing – revisiting your past with your future. Sweet! Harry looked like he enjoyed it too!
He is getting so big!
Fun, fun, fun! Last time I visited my campus it looked so different! There were so many new things. I'm glad you had a beautiful sentimental day!
Harrison is so cute I can't stand it!
We are headed back there in a few weeks too!! We went back a few months back…doesn't campus look so different with the new buildings and stuff they built/are building…
So much fun! Glad you took advantage of the nice weather and got out. Looks like little man enjoyed it a lot!
Looks like an awesome day!
What, no hotdog and lemon ice cream???? I'm disappointed.
this post made me happy! Being outside is the best remedy for my emotional health. Glad you are doing that more!
See, I just came here for your mac and cheese recipe, and I got a bonus adorable post. Yay!
it's amazing what nice weather will do! Love the pics!!!
I don't get about the giraffe.. do what?
Awww yay. I need to visit there too. I haven't been back but once since I graduated. *sigh*
mmm! most gorgeous picture of the two of you together ever!
Beautiful day! I LOL at the you have a baby. in a bar. comment! My dad used that line on me when DD was maybe 4 weeks old. I even replied, this one's on the tit so I can take 'er anywhere! Bwahahahaha!
also, dh and I live about 5 minutes from our campus and we go there all the time. happy memories.
You haven't lived until you've brought your baby to a SWIM-UP bar!
Not that I'd know or anything.
Looks like a blast! I've had my baby in a bar many a time – although he prefers Irish Pubs.
LOVE your frolicking picture…seriously fabulous.
I'm a frolicker myself.
I must know where you got that "grateful mom" t-shirt. My bestie is a huge Dead fan and I'd love to get that for her!
This is too funny. Once again we share something in common. I have been buying every giraffe I can find for my lil man. It is because we are convinced giraffes are his favorite animal. He is always staring at them. I was actually going to do a post on my blog about his/my love affair with giraffes.
So this post got me jumping up and down because I went to the same school! The second I saw the bar picture, I knew. Probably because I spent way too many hours on that patio between classes. Small world! Glad you got to enjoy campus with your fam on such a beautiful day!
My little Connor picked out that same giraffe at Target last weekend. I too am thinking my days of letting him pick out toys are numbered. But, I will indulge him while he still has no idea what I'm doing.
Sounds like a fun day! BLAIR… U LOOK GREAT
I mean, really really really great!
..uh oh! Baby is crying
nap time is over and so is Mommy time!… See ya !
1 – you look amazing! Mommy is tempted to try Nutrisystem.
2 – I had that same whale outfit from Carter's (with the matching sweater!) and it was Mommy's faces until I outgrew it.
3 – that last pic is beautiful; definitely a framer!
Hey Blair. You look genuinely happy and that is a nice thing to see. I'm jealous of the beer. Shit, I'm jealous that you can sit down for 5 minutes and have one, even with kid in tow. you can't do that shit with a 2 year old and a 5 month old. No sir.
what an awesome idea!! DH and i have a similar story to yours (we met at school too! C though, not G) =) we ar going home this weekend, you have inspired me!
Um yeah, so I've taken ours to the pub on a few occasions… I think all the cool kids go
I was sad when our little trumpettes got too small too. Sigh.
I love the fact that he is ALWAYS in Carters. I am so lucky to have an outlet 10 minutes from my house. Now hopefully I can actually use the outfits I bought for NOlan one day, I will be happy.
oh my God. You have a baby. In a bar.
i totally said that exact line to my husband today as we took our son out with his friends after they won their hockey match.
why yes we do!
You look like you had an awesome day…love the pics
How fun! & I love your shirt – makes you look like a hippie. A sexy hippie who showers regularly. You know.
Trumpette socks are the best. And frolicking is fun
Especially in a skirt that can twirl around. How cool to be able to take your son back to the places where you and Nate first started out.
I love love love the last picture. You both look so happy and adorable. What a great idea! I told my hubby that we need to get out more with the weather warming up
Nice!! Baby in a bar…see Natty Greene's, Saturday before St. Patty's, ACC tourney, 4 adults, one BFing while *gasp* drinking a beer!
Now I want a beer.
DH and I had our first apartment together on Tate St- a looong time ago, oh the memories of before “real life” started…Next time we go visit the ILs we’ll have to take the kiddo’s to that bar, now that I know it’s “family-friendly”.
What a beautiful day and it's awesome you brought the baby to the bar!
What a great day! I love the photos, but especially the frolicking. We moms don't do enough frolicking . . .thanks for the inspiration!
That is my alma mater as well! I know exactly what building that is. My husband and I also met on that campus – ahhh memories. What a fun day… and I love that bar!
Loved the "Sweet Home Alabama" quote!!!!!
