I promise, I'll work out this week. No, really.
McFatty Monday, y’all!!! First, apologies that it took me until yesterday to make rounds on last week’s McFatty & I’m not even sure I managed to comment for everyone. It’s pretty much the same reason I didn’t accomplish one of my goals & the laundry is piled to epic proportions on my guest bed again.
Work. Baby. & a never-ending quest to regain my sex life (more on that later). But I figure y’all are sympathetic & hopefully understand that this past week was like getting hit by a Mac truck & then hosed down with ice water in 30-degree weather. But it wasn’t even that pleasant or organized. & I will do better this week.
Second, THANK YOU for the veggie tips! I went grocery shopping yesterday & snagged some fresh broccoli & asparagus, all set for roasting & lemon saucing & garlic & all that jazz, so I am excited. Last night, I munched on spinach with ranch, & asparagus drizzled with olive oil & lemon. DELICIOUS. A nice change because I definitely slacked on veggies this week – the good news is, I didn’t replace vegetables with Doritos. The bad news, I didn’t eat the amount of food required.
Good News:
- I lost 3 lbs! Impressive considering a) I had three meals that were not Nutrisystem and b) I didn’t work out. At all. Goal FAIL.
- Nutrisystem really is teaching me to mind my portions – on those three meals, I pictures what a Nutrisystem serving of beef stew or pot pie was, then selected that amount. Two of the meals were a direct result of OH MY GOD, I CANNOT EAT SPLIT PEA SOUP. WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU MAIL THAT OUT?!?! but I tried to stick to dinners loaded with fresh veggies & little fat.
- I never have to see Split Pea Soup in my NS box ever again, thanks to ordering only my favorites from here -on-out.
- I amped up my water intake, which was a goal from last week. My trusty Nalgene from pregnancy is once again my faithful side-kick.
Bad News:
- Last night’s performance at a friend’s house for dinner was not impressive. I still have a long way to go about learning to say no to that second glass of wine or “No, I don’t need an entire quarter of the pie as my personal dessert slice.”
- I didn’t exercise. At all. Not one evening of Jillian piping through my television, or even 5 minutes on my elliptical. There is no way I can get up earlier to work out & shower since we’re already slapping the alarm clock at 5:45am. I’m really struggling with getting a routine down after work that involves working out once Harrison is in bed. It’s hard to get motivated to sweat at 8pm when I know I’m in bed an hour later, so maybe I’ll try to work out the moment I get home – maybe Nate can eat while I work out, then I’ll eat & feed Harrison so he can snag 30 minutes to decompress before bath & bed. ::sigh:: The logistics of it all still give me a raging headache.
What hurdles are you facing, rolling into Week 3? When do you work out? Do you work out every day, or are you one of those folks (like me) that feels successful for walking briskly through Target on a formula run? I’d love to read posts about how you manage to swing it into your schedule, how long it takes, what you do, etc.
So here I am, two weeks & eight lbs lost into McFatty Monday. Nate warmed my heart the other morning by telling me that I already look skinnier (& I thanked him later in a wifely manner. Now he tells me I look skinny every 5 minutes. MEN!). I can’t tell any difference in the way my clothes fit yet, but hopefully soon.
(i feel like i should always put a disclaimer that i don’t wear make-up or do my hair when i’m around harrison. because he’s just going to puke on me. so don’t judge the grease & sloppy bun)
I’m only making one goal for this week – to work out at least four times at at least 30 minutes apiece. Hold me to that, mmkay? Because the fat dimples on my arms are begging for some light weights.

I’m not a mom (yet), but I motivate myself to work out by reminding myself how much better I will feel. I’m sure you know this, but exercising actually increases your energy during the day and helps you sleep better at night. When I don’t exercise, I fell sluggish and just blah. I like the exercising me much better! Keep that in mind. You may feel tired when Jillian is staring you in the face, but the long-term effects are so worth it! Keep it up Blair!
Congrats on the 3 pound loss! I lost 3 pounds as well this week! I definitely get the difficulty of finding time to workout, and I don’t even have a baby. I guess my only suggestion would be to just do it when you can, and not feel guilty when you can’t. Carrying a baby around has got to count for some type of exercise!
Here’s my post:

Way to go on the weight loss! Two years ago I lost 40 pounds and didn’t do a single bit of working out, so don’t stress too much about not finding the time.
This week’s husband approved diet recipe is Mexican Wontons …. an excellent party food!
GAH! I was TERRIBLE at working out this week. It’s hard to be a working mom and then still find time to work out.
http://prayinghopingwishingwaiting.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday-week-2.html
I have not worked out once. Well besides the bench presses that I have been doing with DS and now that he is tipping 20 pounds it makes quite the arm workout.
Every week I tell myself next week I will work out but it’s hard to find the time. We get up, eat, go to work/daycare, get off work, play, eat, put DS down and then I am exhausted and lay on the couch. We have a bike and treadmill in our house so I really need to stop being lazy but here I am 3 weeks later and I have still not worked out. Once again it is on my list of goals for next week but this week is going to be pretty hectic so not sure if it will happen. Good luck!

McFatty Monday II: http://marblesrolling.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday-week-ii-b_18.html
I go to La Boxing and do a one hour class three times a week, in the evenings after Roscoe has gone to sleep for the night. I try to give myself a half hour before or after the class for strength training, but most of the time I lift weights in my garage. Working out three days a week is a concession I make as a new mom, if I had my way I would work out 6 times. I managed to maintain my pre-preg routine throughout my pregnancy: running, cardio kickboxing, elliptical, spinning, rowing (only early on), and weight lifting. Three days a week feels so much better than nothing, but i’m itching for more. Awesome job with 8 pounds in only two weeks. Miraculous! I’m waiting for week four to weigh or measure myself again…ooohh the suspense!
Hey Girl-
A friend of mine turned me on to your blog. (We’re both new mommies too – it was so nice to find someone who was actually HONEST about this whole parenting scene!!)
I’m loving reading your posts and I think you are doing AWESOME! I too am on the quest to regain a less “matronly” figure, and I’m having issues with fitting it all in as well. I’m shooting for 4 days a week, and I work out first thing in the morning after I drop the doodle off with the sitter. (It puts me getting to work an hour later, but it seems to be working for right now, and the boss is pretty understanding.) I tried doing the evening workout, but I’m just way too wiped after the sitter pickup, trying to assemble some sort of dinner, bathtime and bedtime for the doodle.
I’m anxious to see you how do this week. 3 lbs is FREAKING AWESOME! You go – hot momma!
You look great – keep up the good work! Since returning to work after my son was born I found there to be good weeks (as far as working out is concerned) and bad weeks – but it evens out in the end!
And, off topic, what is the saying on the wall behind you?
I had to come here to confess – This weekend resembled a course on how to ruin your diet. http://hannah.lohman-halstead.com/?p=66 and as far as working out goes… ha! Working out is switching the 15lb monkey from arm to arm while chasing the 2 y/o through the grocery tore.
LOL. Men are so funny. And you totally do look thinner already, I agree with him!
I sport that same look everyday– I get puked on, peed on, my hair pulled if it’s not up, so no disclaimer necessary!
I don’t have any tips for you because I’ve always been fortunate enough to not have to exercise and I still end up losing. Not anymore though, I have a spare jellyroll that will not budge, so I am going to have to exercise as well!
Good luck this week!
Here’s my McFatty Post:
http://mollybrynn.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcchocolate-monday-aka-mcfatty-monday.html
When I can’t actually work out for real I do a couple things to ease the guilt 1-Park in the back of the parking lot, if it’s safe 2- walk around the store to where you are going if it’s just a quick trip, not straight to it 3-of course stairs when you can 4-skip the shopping cart if you possibly can, carrying bags builds arms ya’ll 5-make folding laundry more work, put the basket on the floor..put stacks away 1 by 1
Yeah to the 3lb loss, it found residence on my ass this morning. We’re starting a new round of Clomid later this month and I started the Provera, so even though I did a good job on WW this week I’m assuming it’s what you normal woman consider TOM and I’m bloated. Eff.
Congrats Blair!! 3 pounds is great for a second week loss!! It’ll only get easier once you find your groove with exercise as well! I hope to be as lucky
Here’s my post!
http://outofrealworld.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/i-blame-nature/
Yay for the weight loss!
I know some people think this is crazy, but I do get up at 5:00 to workout. We have a treadmill in the basement and an elliptical and some weights, and a TV/DVD (so Jillian can make me her bitch). I find my day goes better if I don’t have to think about working out at night, and then feeling guilty if I don’t. Yes, sometimes I skip if The Boy has been up every two hours, but I’ve been averaging 3 times a week (M-F) and then both weekend days and it’s working. I go to bed by 9:00 after reading for like 5 minutes, but eh…
I get home by 3:00 and most days if it is nice and not too cold or too rainy I will take a walk with The Boy and The Dog. We go 2 miles or so, and it’s not super fast but it’s at a decent pace and we all look forward to it. On the weekends, we make an effort to go walk as a family for an hour or so. It’s a nice break.
Something I’ve missed with motherhood is reading. Oh, I love to read. I could read for HOURS pre-baby. I have a 35 minute commute, so I started getting books on tape. Not QUITE the same, but still great. I know you said you had a long commute, and you like to read so maybe this would be helpful…
Good luck this week!
You are doing AWSOME!! 8 lbs in 2 weeks is incredible, Blair. I stay at home, so I work out during morning nap time (if i do). If I wait until after lunch, it’s not going to happen.
Suggestion: Do you have a work out place near or at work that you can go to on your lunch break?
http://lifewithsweetcheeks.blogspot.com/
3lbs is great! I’m down 2 this week. Not my goal, but I will definitely accept it.
No way can I work out every day. I work part time and Mason is total high maintenance. Plus, let’s be honest here, I’m lazy as hell. =) I’m mall walking 2x a week with another momma friend and am going to put 30 Day Shred in the DVD player and do it whenever I had five/ten minutes. It worked well for me last week. I just paused it and went about my biz-nass until I felt I had some time again and unpaused it. I still felt a burn the next day!
I’m A Mall Walking Diva
Congrats Blair! Three pounds is perfect, and it sounds like you’re doing great. Here’s my update:
http://ourdelilah.blogspot.com/2010/01/blairs-mcfatty-monday.html
No weight lost. Bad diet, only exercised three times. I’m unmotivated. I’ve got to shake this feeling. I only want to lose 15 pounds and tone up, and I know it doable.
March on!
Congrats on the 3lb weight loss!! I struggle with figuring out when to work out as well. I’ve always done best running EARLY in the morning (to just get it over with), but now that I have 2 month old with no form of feeding/sleeping schedule whatsoever it’s gotten really hard.
Anyway, keep up the great work! I love your blog!
Way to go with the three pound loss – that’s wonderful!
I had a bit of a rough week as far as exercise, too… there just are NOT enough hours in the day!!!!
Here’s my post for the week…
http://makingsomethinggood.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday-january-18-2010.html
personal opinion but WAY TOO GO, you have managed to loose weight AND it was awhile you are trying to find a routine with working again.
Disclaimer, I am not working at the moment, so may/may not work for you but I found that when that alarm goes off roll right to the floor like don’t stand up cause if you do you will talk yourself out of it. But take 5 mins and do crunches and push ups. I do 250 crunches and 50 push ups. And the plus is it kinda gets you energized for the day, I found its help us get our sex life back too, a quick morning romp when we probably dont have time for it is kinda of nice and thats exercise too, right?!?!?
Here’s my week…
http://edwinjamesholman.blogspot.com/2010/01/ihatedieting.html
Congrats! I haven’t done ANYTHING so I am a big fail. BUT I am dusting off the 30 Day Shred again – I huffed and puffed through that pre-wedding and than total slack off after the vows. Now I need to get back on that wagon! I think I’m going to do Jillian three days a week and try to do yoga twice….we’ll see how that actually pans out.
3 pounds is great!! I have finally lost a little bit of weight, a little more than 3 pounds over two weeks. So your 8 pounds is amazing (to me anyway). We are still kid-less, so it makes it easy to find the time to work out. I signed up for a fitness bootcamp class through our county parks and rec. Its three times a week for an hour a time. It is kicking my butt!! But I go because I paid money for it. Plus I feel like the other people in the class, not to mention the instructor, will totally judge me if I don’t go.
I’ve made my personal goal to run a 5k by the end of the year. I probably should be able to do it by June. I am also thinking of adding the Couch to 5K program in on the days I don’t have bootcamp, not sure yet. But I’ll tell you, if I hadn’t paid for this class and they weren’t people expecting me to be there, I probably wouldn’t be working out. Its hard and it hurts and I do not have that personal motivation yet. I have Jillian’s DVD sitting in the basement gathering dust. Our treadmill and Bowflex would be covered in dust too, if the husband wasn’t working out.
What’s the weather like where you are? Do you have time at night or in the morning to take Harrison on a 30 minute walk without screwing up his schedule? That way you still spend time with him and can get some form of exercise in…
Oh, and once you’ve done the Nutrisystem for a few weeks, I hope you’ll do a full review. I have questions….
WooHoo…I lost 2 more pounds! But of course Blair, you lost more once again! Here is my post:
http://365daysofbeing30andamommy.blogspot.com/2010/01/day-18-mcfatty-monday.html
Way to go, Blair! You did great with such a tough week of a new schedule! I trust you guys will settle into a good night routine soon, where you can get in your workout time, and everything else you need for you.
The scale is down this week, here! I’m excited to see people’s ideas with getting the workout in!

Great job on the 8 pound loss- keep up the good work!!

Good job on 2 consecutive weeks of losing weight. I have to join you ont eh failing at exercise thing this week but I swear today I am busting out the pilates mat.
mommylifeand weightlossbloggity
I am just in AWE of how you are juggling everything, while still finding time for “wifely duties” & paying attention to your weight loss. That takes some serious dedication. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t get it perfectly right immediately; you are dealing with a LOT & should be commended. Keep up the good work & for what it’s worth, I think you look skinnier too.
xo

Way to go Blair!
I laready lost 8 lbs myself and I’m so motivated to keep going.
Of course you look skinnier girl ( No, you don’t have to thank me on a wifely manner but thank you though, lol) eight pounds is a big deal!!!!
So happy for you.
I will post my link in a minute I just couldnt resist to tell you that you look great!!!
I’m also in awe that your able to do it all. I had to work for a few months when my daughter was 8 months old in order to earn a second Mat leave and it was the most exausting 3 months of my life! I can’t imagine having to go back to work with such a young baby at home. I wish that everyone got the year off that we do up here in Canada.
Anyways… Congrats on losing another 3 lbs! You’re doing great!

Have a great week Blair!
SO proud of you! You’re inspiring me, and I’m not even on my postpartum journey yet. Yea, you!
8 pounds! That is GREAT! Nate sounds like Mr. Knip, he thinks I am like Pavlov’s dog with the conditioned response. Compliment=treat for hubby. Hmmm, maybe I should try that again!
Good Luck working out!
http://mrandmrskniptionfits.blogspot.com/2010/01/from-epic-failure-to-overnight-success.html
Blair! I just lo lo loooove your posts and you have inspired me
. Starting the work out routine this week! I went out and bought a heartrate monitor, did you know you need twice as much oxygen to burn fat as you do a carb – that’s why you stay in the target heart rate zone! OK forgive me for sounding like a dummy but i just learned that this week. Keep up the good work – you’re doing excellent!
Congrats on another loss, Blair! WTG! Like a previous commenter said, I’m pretty much in awe of how you are juggliing everything – especially since you just returned to work! I was a MESS the first few weeks, and I only work part time. ha. Two months in, and I have finally figured out how to get the dishes done, work, and still feed a bathe the baby. Fitting in dieting has been hard enough. Working out – impossible. I’ve got to try to fit in my ME time every day tho, so that’s my goal this week.

I’m having issues, so if this posts twice, sorry! I am down 2 pounds! I understand the suckage that is working out. It is one of my goals!
Nate sound like Mr. Knip. I think he gets me confused with one of Pavlov’s dogs. Complement=good response. Hmm, perhaps I’ll try it again and see if it’s a conditioned response. HA!

aaah.my fat dimples on my arms and butt are begging for weights too. I am slacking- my progress this week was zero, but I can get back in it today.
You look great-I can see the difference in your stomach! keep it up!\

Congratulations on 8lbs in two weeks! That’s fantastic!
I’ve always been a lurker here and very much enjoy your posts as well as your posts over on the bump. We had the same due date so I used to follow your weekly reports to compare our pregnancies.
I know this started two weeks late, but hopefully I can still join McFatty Monday’s because I really want to lose the weight in prep for baby #2 sometime in the future.

http://rachelburks.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/not-off-to-a-great-start/
Congrats, Blair! 8 pounds gone already is pretty fab. I’m slowly dropping some poundage, and my husband also noticed, though I still am not sure I see it. It definitely feels great to hear it, though!

I sucked this week, too. Boo.
http://thebabyfisherblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday_18.html
So nice to see that I am not the only one struggling to lose a little (actually a lot) of baby weight. Lost 2 lbs in 2 weeks. Not the greatest, but better than gaining, considering the number of post holiday cookies I consumed. This week will be better. Thanks for the motivation!
maybe warmer weather will want to make us all work out a little more? i’m having the same problems:
http://justonemoretrip.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday-week-3.html
not sure if you are breastfeeding or not, but if you are- eating foods like brocoli can make your baby’s tummy miserable. some docs say it doesn’t effect them, but i have had three kids and i can tell you brocoli can make your baby gassy and quite the screamer!!
Great job so far. I have only lost one lb, but I’ll take it for now. You look GREAT!
Hi Blair!
I have never posted before, and I didn’t do a mcfatty monday post, buuuut I used to be a personal trainer and have a degree in health and fitness management! I just really felt for you because I get stressed out hearing about your day and finding time for exercise. So I have a little advice. What if, you exercised during the week for 30 minutes one night (two if you aren’t overwhelmed), and then work out on Saturday and Sunday for an hour? If this helps awesome, if not… I love reading your blog
http://thedivasmom.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday-week-3.html
We can do it, we can do it!
I wish I could afford nutrisystem, I would SO jump all over that. Portion control is my biggest setback… I eat very healthily other than that!!
Running has been my go-to lose weight plan all of my life and it has worked for losing baby weight as well. The trick is getting enough exercise that I get past the added appetite from exercise and burn more calories than I eat. I know people (actually I do this myself sometimes!) who do some walking, weight-lifting, or crunches here and there, use it as an excuse to eat a cookie or a second helping of lasagna, and then wonder why they can’t lose weight. Of course Nutrisystem is probably great for helping keep away the extra food. Our best investment last year was a treadmill (about $350) and I am trying to get up to at least 9 miles a week.
I hope you find a good evening routine! I can run during the day but we’ve been working on a way for my husband to fit in his run in the evening. He has started running two days a week right when he gets home from work and once on Saturday. I didn’t want to give up our dinner time together so we’re trying to eat around 7:15 (with baby fed and in the swing) and then bath and everything for baby by 8:00. That gives us time for clean up, extra chores, snuggling, etc. before bed. It worked last week so we’ll keep trying!
Thank you for McFatty Monday and the reminder to stop laying around feeling fat and do something about it! You are doing an awesome job and it will feel so good when you reach your goal (that’s what I keep telling myself
Keep it up and I absolutely love your blog!
Here’s my post for the week. I share your struggles with finding motivation and time for exercise so I am excited to see what ideas others have.
http://iamlosingthebaggage.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday_18.html
Well, I don’t feel so bad about not working out and indulging in a little too much wine this week now! I just did my McFatty Monday post too…enjoy
http://domesticdivameli.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday.html
I’m going to post my super easy, choked full of veggies, tasty, low GI, weight loss helpy, take for lunchy, helped my hubs lose weight lentil soup recipe for you Blair. Because NO ONE should EVER have to eat split pea soup EVER!
1 chopped onion
3 chopped carrots
3 chopped celery stalks
Garlic (as much as you want, I want LOTS!)
2 cups lentils (red or green, I use 1 cup each. Dried, right from the package is good)
1 can chick peas (drained)
1 large can diced tomatoes (undrained)
1 bag spinach, finely chopped
S&P
3 tbsp Cumin (honestly I just dump spices in, I don’t measure much)
2 tbsp Tumeric
2 tbsp Curry Powder
In a large pot, saute onion and garlic in olive oil for 3-5 mins; add carrot and celery, saute 5 mins.; Reduce heat, add spices and stir; add lentils and stir (it’ll be all dry); add can of tomatoes, stir; add 8 cups of water and chickpeas; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 45mins – 1 hour. Add bag of chopped spinach near at the end.
Serve with no-fat yogurt or sour cream, hot sauce and whole wheat pitas
Great job with your weight loss this week!!! Keep up the hard work!! I also feel your pain in finding motivation to work out that is my problem too.
Here is my weekly update…not so great but thats okay its a new week!!

great job on your weight loss this week, I also lack motivation to work out and find the energy to do so. but at least its a new week.
hi there! nice work on the weightloss and good eating! i work out most days of the week. here’s my schedule (give or take 15 minutes):

6:30-7pm – hang out with hubby and baby.
7-7:30pm – feed baby and put her to bed.
7:30-10:00pm – shower and hang out with hubby.

Way to go with 3 pounds!!
Check out some of the veggie recipies in your standard betty crocker/joy of cooking cookbook. That always gives me some good ideas!

My husband and I take turns working out and watching the baby in the evenings after dinner. It has worked out really well for us.
Here’s my post: http://matahouse.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday_18.html
Woot! You’re so close to kissing 10 lbs. goodbye!
Baby steps, Blair! You are doing awesome–8 pounds already! Keep it up.
Great job on your 3 pounds! I lost 5, for a two week total of 9. Like you, i don’t expect those results every week, but it sure is nice!
Here’s my contribution for the week:
http://zainylainy.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/you-bet-your-sweet-ass-i-am/
I just wanted to tell you I think you look trimmer already too! (and please don’t send me any wifely-duty-thank-you’s for that little compliment).
Joining McFatty Monday as it is already in progress!
Congrats on the 3 pounds-that must be so motivating. I am at a standstill as far as poundage goes, but I feel more toned. I just started running in October-so far I have lost a total of 10 pounds, I need to increase my distance to keep it up! I work out 5-6 days on average.
It’s really hard to fit in working out weekdays when I only have 2-3h with the baby after work. I try to at least do it once a week, right after he goes to bed because we usually get a few hours without wake ups then. Hubby is a big runner so he motivates me and it’s actually good quality time for us to spend together. I also try to do something both weekend days so I don’t feel so bad skipping weekdays.
I’m not doing McFM because I don’t want to lose anything now – my BM supply is teetering on too low and I don’t want to jack with it. I certainly have some to lose but just trying to maintain now. Working out gives be energy so that’s my motivation.
I can’t wait until warmer weather to bust out the jogging stroller.
I’ve found that I can get a workout done if I put Will (born the day after Harrison) down on his playmat, right in front of the tv, and pop in the 30 Day Shred DVD. Its a quick 20 minutes, and Will loves watching me jump around. If he’s fussy, then I can just make lots of funny faces, or easily pop his soother back in his mouth, turn the music back on, or whatever it takes to make him a little calmer so I can make it through the workout.
I also do a strollercise class once a week, and I love that- great to get out with Will to meet other moms, plus its a bit more of an intense workout.
I feel ya.. I have to work out right when I get home or I just don’t do it. I worked out 4 days last week which was one more day than the week before so I call that progress! I even got the hubby to do 30 day shred with me on Saturday and he was a ridiculous whine baby and I was going strong so that made me feel good…
Keep it up..

I am a single mom who had the theory when I was pregnant that hey “I have no one to impress, so if I want to eat it I will..”. Well now . I am paying for it.
60 pounds heavier, and finally at the point in my life where it is time to do something about it. I am watching what I eat, counting calories and hitting the gym 4-5 days a week. Keep in mind this is only my first day starting.
I decided to start a blog about it so that I have something to hold myself accountable too. It’s going to be fantastic and horrible all at the same time, but SO worth it when it pays off and I start to see results…
Here’s my blogpost for today.

You look great! I have yet to workout as well, I just havent found the time. I think you should take little breaks throughout the day to get in as much as you can. Baby steps. Here is my post http://thsoapscumavenger.blogspot.com/2010/01/mcfatty-monday-im-still-in-bad-mood.html
Congrats to losing more weight! I have no advice on when/how to work out; that’s my goal to tackle for next week!

Youre looking good, Blair! Congrats on the ongoing weight loss.
Blair, good job again on the weight loss. You will be looking great and feeling great in no time. As with working out, I understand how you feel. I can’t seem to find the time to do it and I don’t even have a job.
This was a bad week for me as I had a serious family emergency and got sidetracked from everything- working out, eating healthy, et cetera. But I am still down. Stress induced weight loss, probably.

Blair, you are kicking patootie on the weight loss this month! Good job!
I lost 4.5 pounds this week, and you can read about it here:

I know that it seems like 5:45 is already “too early” in the morning, but TRY working out 2-3x a week in the morning by getting up at 5 or 5::15. Start with only 2x so you don’t feel overwhelmed. It is actually SO much easier to work out early in the a.m. than you’d think– certainly easier than at the end of such a busy day!! This way, your workout is DONE and off your list before you even have coffee. You’ll feel good all day knowing that you’ve already accomplished the workout, and you can relax with the hubbs and Harrison when you get home after work. Right now it seems like you are in a place where you’ve set an expectation that “i am going to work out every day” but the thought of fitting in every-day workouts is so daunting that you are actually at 0 workouts a week. For one week, try working out 2-3 times in the morning during the work week and one more time on the weekend– I think you’ll find that it is manageable! Please don’t put on yourself the expectation of working out 6-7x a week with full-time employment, a hubbs, and a baby. You can do 3-4 times. Do that.
I could have written this myself, minus the Nutrisystem meals. I too started back at work last week and have no idea how/when to fit in workouts, especially since my baby is up until 10-11 every night and DH takes classes. But, I am eating a little better, so that has to count for something!
Here is my McFatty Monday post! I dont do my post til Tuesdays just b/c that is when I weigh in with weight watchers.
Keep up the good work ladies!

Ok Blaire… you have officially gotten me on the McFatty Monday’s band wagon. My son is now 3 1/2 years old and I am still holding onto the weight… plus some. I got on the scale at the dr’s last week and was 1 lb more than I was right before I had my son!!! I was disgusted… all the way around. I started this past monday weighing in… i think i might even get bold and post some pics like you have… talk about accountability! I adore reading your blog… in some circumstances I have felt for the past 3 years that I was the only one going though certain things. You are an incredible sense of encouragement. Just seeing your progress over 3 weeks is awesome! Thank you!
I’m in the same boat. Trying to figure out how to juggle it all! Congrats on 3 more pounds!

I’m in the same boat. Figuring out how to juggle it all is hard work! Congrats on another 3 pounds!

“i feel like i should always put a disclaimer that i don’t wear make-up or do my hair when i’m around harrison. because he’s just going to puke on me”
I’m nowhere near motherhood, but this is probably the most sage piece of real mommy advice I’ll ever be given.
So proud of your achievements thus far! Keep up the good work!
xoxo,
Lulu
I am 2 days late in this post. So…you might say I SO get it about your struggles to find time to work out.

[...] NutriSystem, Support, Weight Loss I was sick on Monday and didn’t post, so today is my McFatty Monday. I have to admit, I have totally sucked at this diet thing. All I can think about is eating [...]
Congrats on the 3 lbs., Blair! I think that’s mighty impressive!!
I love reading everybody’s comments! Now I need to get around and read everybody else’s McFatty Monday blog posts. I had a rough week. Here is mine. Advice, input, thoughts are welcome: http://catahari.wordpress.com/2010/01/20/mcfatty-monday-on-a-wednesday/
i used to work out hard core (i’m talking an hour or two in the gym) 6 days a week…and then i had a baby. since i’m exhausted and can hardly find time to take a crap in peace let alone squeeze in a half hour work out i became a vegan. cut out meat, cut out dairy and voila – five feet four inches of hottie. the downside: i have to cut out meat and dairy. but i’d slap on a bikini in january with no qualms (with a major waxing first, of course). but in all seriousness i work out maybe once or twice a week and i’m talking light weight lifting while watching tv for fifteen minutes or a baby/mommy yoga dvd (although that’s a killer work out in and of itself considering my child’s insane). so it’s worth it. now to go think non-dairy thoughts…
You look like you have already had some amazing progress since the last picture. Awesome! Nate is right… you DO look skinner. Yay! I swear by counting calories. It sucks, but it’s great to know what you are putting into your system. And lots and lots of walking… which is easy to do in Mahnattan
