Our house overflows with primary colors.

Blair: “I bought a shirt today.”

Nate: “Oh, yeah?”

Blair: “It’s yellow.  I’m not sure how it will look, but I can return it if I hate it.”

Nate: “I like yellow on you.”

Blair: “It’s bright yellow.  Like…baby toy yellow.”

I could have said bright goldish yellow.  Or  the yellow found in kindergarten rooms.  Or even referenced a Sherwin Williams paint swatch.  But no, I picked “baby toy yellow.”  & the worst part is, he knew immediately what color I referred to.

Where I almost killed us all only 7 days into the new year.

Remember how I almost killed my husband yesterday?  Well, today I forgot to take the spoon out when I was re-heating Nate’s chili for dinner.

The metal spoon, that is.

Harrison may be much happier, but it’s safe to say that his Momma’s sanity & mental capacities have yet to return.

We have toes! A tongue! & Daddy's love of an all-carb diet!

It only took three days & my kid officially smiles & squeals when I pull out the cereal:

Unfortunately, I had to gently remind him that despite his love of rice cereal, he is NOT 12 months old & therefore must also drink his milk.  That took some encouragement, but he did enjoy his bottle & then settle down for a sweet nap on his floor mat.

Also, it’s amazing what you find once you can stop crying long enough to see the world.  Look, Ma!  Toes!!  He also found his tongue & is deriving great joy from sticking it out at us – hopefully I’ll snap it on camera soon.

p.s. there are snow flurries in the forecast, but have no fear!  our casa is stocked with milk!  & eggs!  & bread!  i’m just itching to put harrison in his sweet bear fleece suit & take pictures in a world of white.  so please, please snow!
