Serious Post.

I have a slight problem/issue/conundrum/baby mama drama.

I want to tell y’all when I get a BFP. I want to run to the boards, post it, have everyone be happy for us, and selfishly, be a blatant Attention Whore that there is a baby swimming in my uterus. Everyone wants that, if we’re honest.

The problem? I know people IRL on the boards. My cousin. 2 best friends from high school. Sorority sisters. People that know people my parents know. While I want to tell my creepy Internet friends asap, Nate and I have decided to NOT tell our parents until after the first ultrasound. There is too much going on in the family to raise their hopes and then cause public heartbreak if something should happen. Can I keep a secret from my Internet friends for 4ish weeks? I simply do not want to. On the other hand, I don’t want Mrs. Jones running up to my Momma in Fresh Market screaming, “Blair is with child! Congratulations!” before we get a chance to tell her ourselves.

Do you see my problem? What would you do, if you were me? Update my friends & pray that nobody slips up?

So this is what I need from my readers and from my friends — please, please promise me you will keep your mouths shut. Don’t tell your mothers AT ALL. Don’t tell your mom & make her promise to keep it a secret because obviously, you couldn’t do the same thing if you already told her. Don’t hint at it, don’t tell our common friends who might tell their mothers…I know it’s very ego-centric of me to think that people are that interested in my vagina to spread pregnancy gossip, but I hate the risk. I want to be able to share my joy with someone immediately, and to have a support system immediately (yes, just in case). Please respect this & don’t ruin it for me & Nate.
