sigh. CD 17 and no ovulation yet. This, my friends, is why we chart.I fully realize that it is quite possible & even probable to get pregnant without charting. But let’s say that this month, I ovulate on CD 18 (we’ll just use tomorrow for kicks & giggles). If I wasn’t charting, I would assume that I had ovulated on CD 14 because “my body always works like clockwork!” So come CD 28 and no period, I would be wasting money peeing on sticks & prossibly getting negatives since AF was not actually late, I was simply only 10 dpo.

Furthermore, let’s go with that “clockwork” stuff and say that by assuming I ovulated on CD 14, Nate and I did the dirty like animals CD 12-15. I love my husband, but I think my vagina would be screaming for a break by that point, meaning that we might not have sex on CD 16-19, when I was fertile (I’m giving rough estimates, work with me). Therefore, I don’t get pregnant. And it has zero to do with my fertility or Nate’s sperm — it has all to do with timing. And let’s assume that your body does work like “clockwork,” just CD 18 clockwork. Multiply that by 12 months of assuming ovulation on the wrong day and you have yourself in panic, thinking you might have fertility problems.

Just my rant for this morning, not directed at anyone but the chicks on MC that like to tell me that my “uterus is full of bitter” and that’s why I will never conceive a child. Suggesting that someone chart to TTC isn’t cruel & unusual punishment — it’s advice & support, which is typically what they are asking for in the first place. meh.
